Stewart is a current law enforcement officer and a K9 handler. He began his law enforcement career with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department in 1998 and then took a position with a state agency. Stewart has been a K9 handler since 2001 and is currently handling his second dual purpose K9 which is a Dutch Shepherd.
Stewart has been training at Battle Ridge K9 Services since August 2003 and received his trainer’s certificate in September 2005. He will be assisting in the training of the K9 teams in narcotics and utility work. While participating in the trainer’s course, Stewart received training in the following areas and techniques:
